MMichele’s Salon & Day Spa was founded in 1993 by Michele M. Wilkinson, the salon that Michele envisioned, was a workplace that nurtured the technical proficiency of her staff while encouraging their spirit and ambition, knowing that an inspired staff would make a connection with the patrons of her shop. Prompted by her dear friend Kristina Barrett Biviano, Michele began to realize that more than hair needed to be attended to if her shop was going to provide the kind of mind and body experience she sought for her clients and staff.

More than anyone else, Kristina was the friend and colleague who inspired the path Michele’s follows today. Kristina began offering facials and esthetics. Her vision grew, and the complete day spa, in its current location, was opened in 1998. As a tribute to Kristina, Michele’s logo is the Bird of Paradise, because it was in her beloved Hawaii that Kristina lost her long struggle with ovarian cancer. Over the years, Michele’s has grown into a beauty and wellness environment, with tranquil spa therapies and treatments, facials, hand and foot treatments, skin care, massage, and a full menu of beauty services, including hair design and cosmetics. Michele’s has come a long way toward realizing a fun, gutsy, supportive work culture in which beauty and spa professionals thrive. As a result, Michele’s is an unrivaled source of beauty and luxury in the Berkshires.

Michele’s is located in Great Barrington, MA, the heart of the Berkshires. Just a 5 minute drive from Historic Stockbridge, MA and close to great attractions like Tanglewood and Jacob’s Pillow.

Michele Wilkinson – Owner

I always say I have a degree in higher education from my clients, my motivated team and my passion for the industry. Always staying inspired, I love making people look amazing and enhancing their beauty inside and out.

  • Accumulated over 1,800 hours of hair school. I graduated in 1987, with my hair license at 17 years old. I have furthered my education with Redken exchange, Aveda Institute, House of Bumble (The Harvard of Hair) and I SPA Conventions. I am a member of P.B.A. (Professional Beauty Association). Every day I pursue my passion and continually learn so my salon can push the envelope of innovation and beauty.

Ren – Esthetician

I love connecting with people and being a part of helping them look and feel their best. Seeing people at their happiest is a truly incredible experience.

  • Dermalogica, Overnight Clearing Gel. Almost everyone needs some salicylic acid in their skin care regimen. It’s great at preventing break-outs and in-grown hairs. Its anti-bacterial and slightly anti-inflammatory too.

Nicole – Esthetician

I enjoy evaluating each client’s specific needs and developing a treatment plan that addresses the areas of concern. Educating and making clients look and feel their best is my top priority. Greater understanding of body mechanics and skin structure leads down the path to overall wellness.

Holly – Master Stylist / Colorist, Creative Artistic Director

The idea of never knowing it all. Our industry is always changing and evolving, leaving plenty of room for growth. I also love sharing my passion for this industry with my co-employees, guests and really anyone who will listen. There is a huge emphasis on education here at Michele’s, we are all constantly taking classes and perfecting. For me, the difference I make in the lives of my guests is precious, and I try to remain humble and grateful for my gift.

What I love about my profession is the difference it makes in people’s lives. Every massage nourishes the body physically, mentally and emotionally and leaves one healthier and happier. I feel so honored to be a part of such a beautiful practice.

Karen – Nail Technician

What I love most about being a Nail Technician is the instant gratification. I enjoy the challenge of a much need mani or pedi, resulting in a thankful client that leaves with a smile on their face and doesn’t have to look in the mirror to be reminded of their service.

Chelsea -Senior Stylist/ Colorist and Hair Department Coordinator
